Should I make up for 'sick day calorie deficit'?

i've had this nasty cold for a week now and been struggling to get over 1000 calories a day. I'm starting to feel better, but don't see the point to rack up extra calories to make up for the 'missed' ones...

Any thoughts?

Eat until you're not hungry anymore, don't overeat just to make up for it.

This isn't based on anything "official" or scientific, but if you went several days and couldn't force yourself to eat... say an additional 500 calorie deficit for 5 days, I can't see the point in stuffing down an additional 2500 calories to "make up for it'. Maybe for a few days if you are feeling weak, you could eat a few hundred extra just to help you recover. Personally, when I am sick I don't try to limit my calories. If I feel like eating, I eat. If I don't feel like eating, I dont eat. The only thing I try to do is keep drinking lots of water, maybe even more than the 8 glass fulls suggested here. When you are sick sometimes you get dehydrated. Just my opinion. Hope you are feeling better. :flowerforyou:
