since i started loosing weight iv had my parents and partner saying ok stop now after i lost 20lbs,
in my opinion i wasnt finished and went on to loose another 30lbs so i now constantly get that im too thin from my family members.
its really off putting because in my opinion i want to loose another 5lbs and really tone my belly!
im not even that small im a uk size 8 us size 4 and im 5'8.
so i was just wondering what people class has too thin?

What do you weigh at the moment, and what height are you?
DO you know what your BMI is? xx0 -
IF you are EATING PROPERLY (getting all your nutrients and calories!) and exercising a reasonable amount then don't worry what they say. they might just be jealous of your ambition and healthy new lifestyle. everyone has different size frames and carries weight differently too...0

I hear the samething. Sounds funny to hear you are to skinny dont lose anymore.. and my response is IM NOT LOSING ANYMORE ive been the same for 2 months now just losing inches so its thinning me out and toning up makes me lose inches not weight. They say my face is to thin well yes that has always been smaller then the rest of my body... Just keep exercising and eat your meals a day and you will be fine.. Oh and CONGRATS on your accomplishments..0

I think you look great! Sometimes people will say that when they're jealous.0

my husband is the same as your family... he's told me a weight that he doesn't want me to go below because he's worried I will over do otherwise and get too skinny.... it's not like it's a super low weight either... but it's ok with me, because I don't want to be "skinny" I want to be "healthy" and fit0

Your image of yourself can take a while to catch-up with big changes - so you might even look thinner than you realise. Check that you have a healthy BMI. Ask your doctor if you aren't sure. If all is well, then you can continue with confidence. People do worry about the extreme end of dieting and those who love you probably just fear that you will no longer be able to stop!
If you are fine to carry on, change the way you talk to them. Focus on the 'keeping fit' side of things rather than weight loss (and eating healthily rather than 'dieting') and they'll soon get bored.0 -
I personally don't WANT to be considered "skinny/thin" I am Hispanic and I don't know if its cultural or just my personal preference but I want to be very curvaceous (sp) and with a little meat on my bones. It is all about preferences. If you are healthy and at a good BMI I wouldn't worry too much about what others think. If they are concerned about your health, that is one thing. I agree with an above poster who is wanting to know your height and weight...as long as your in a good range I wouldn't worry to much of what people think. Great job on meeting your goals :flowerforyou: I personally think you look beautiful0

about the same BMI as me, healthy - but people love to have a go!0

I get it all the time... I weigh 196 pounds with a body fat of about 19% got good muscle on me, no stomach but yet people tell me I should gain more!
Jealousy!0 -
you look fantastic in your latest photo, it all depends on your frame and how you carry your weight rather than your size / what you weigh. id say a uk 8 is a good size, below that is getting into same size as a child which is a bit too far!!
my trainer at the gym is 5' 4, about 7.5 stone and she honestly doesnt look 'skinny', she just looks petite and healthy, she is one of those who can eat cakes 24/7 and not put an ounce on. Im also 5'4 and if i go below 9.5 stone i look ill!!0 -
Whatever you feel is appropriate for you. Unless you are getting clinically too thin (eg anorexic) its your body, you're choice. No different to someone saying I'm getting too big. Maybe in their opinion, but that's all it is. What they think....0

Once you're eating enough and not exercising too much, there should be no problem!
I think when someone slims down quite a lot, the people around them start to get a bit worried that they'll take it too far, even if they look great now. When they seem them eating less, they worry a little bit.
I'm about 125-127lbs right now, and I'm 5 ft 1. Three years ago, I was closer to 150lbs, which is obviously overweight for my height. My parents have told me that, even though I look great, I shouldn't lose any more or I'll look too skinny. But I still want to tone up and drop another half a stone, to be comfortable in a UK 10 and just look better. But I think they're just frightened I'll take things too far, but I know I'm healthy and I have an achievable, realistic goal in mind.
Now it's just a matter or getting off my *kitten* to reach that goal0
