I have been more active last week then I've been in awhile ! have stuck to my calories just like mfp says. I'm sad because it shows a gain of 4 pounds this week...how is this physically possible? Has this happenned to any of you?

Are you weighing the same time of day, under the same conditions every time? For instance, I weigh myself every Friday morning, after using the restroom, after doing all of my morning grooming stuff, and before I get dressed. It gives me a very consistent method of tracking. If I weigh in the evening, or right after a meal, or even just some random time of day, the number is occasionally wonky (sometimes surprisingly high, once or twice surprisingly low). You can fluctuate several pounds over the course of a single day, so consistency is key.0

This is exactly what I am going through right now! Really frustrating!0

I just realized last week that when I work out hard with weight training, it shows up the next day as a gain on the scale. I believe this is because of the natural process of damaging the muscles, creating inflammation in them and fluid retention while they heal the micro-tears and build new muscle like they are supposed to. After rest days I usually show a loss, and if I do cardio in the PM instead of the AM it often shows a loss when I weigh in the morning first thing. It's weird and irritating, but it's not "real" weight gain, so don't worry--eventually your scale and your body will get back in sync!0
