Weight Gain from Muscle Training & any tips welcome!

Hi guys...
Okay after being loyal to my calorie burning cardio during my weight loss and after reaching my goal about 4 months ago, I have now decided that it is time to make to move into building muscle and toning up. (Kind of Stage 3 in my MFP journey, with 1 being weight loss and 2 maintaining).
However being new to this, I wanted to find out about how people managed their cals (I've maintained my weight for the last 3 months on my current calorie allowance) and dealt with the weight gain (i.e. knowing it's muscle rather than fat) and interested in any diet tips or tips in general on the matter. I'm not a regular 'weigher' and probably hit the scales once a fortnight at best.
I joined a gym a couple of months ago and am happy with the programme I have been provided which will be reviewed on a 2 monthly basis, so from that side I'm happy, would just love to hear some experiences from you guys! : ) x
