Once in a while when I'm in a pinch for time, I eat a cup of Ramen Noodles for lunch. Recently I found out that they are supposed to be *TERRIBLE* because they have MSG,lots of sodium, and little nutritional value. My question is, should I stop eating these all togehter, or is it okay to have them from time to time for the convenience?

In my opinion. Having a cup of ramen is like having a bag of chips. You can do it once in a while, but not too often.

Read the nutritional lables and decide yourself how bad it is for you and how much you want to eat it.

You don't have to stop - just not an every day type meal. But DO NOT use the packet that comes with the noodles. Loaded with sodium and MSG. Use Low Sodium Chicken Broth to cook the noodles - still lots of flavor w/out all the sodium!! My daughter loves ramen noodles - I also put peas & carrots in it for her to add some veggies!

You could only eat half and add tons of frozen veggies ( Cheap and healthy). I make extra veggies at night with dinner and add them to Lean Cuisine Spa Cuisine dinners and Low Sodium canned soups for something fast.
  • This video may have some rethinking ramen noodles:

I'm going to play the bad guy here and say:

"Drop them like a hot McHamburger."

If it's "convenient", there are plenty of other better tasting and more nutritionally fulfilling things than that cup of questionable noodles.

I won't eat them anymore because one bag of Mr. Noodles for example has 400-500 calories, and a day's worth (or half a day's worth--can't remember) of sodium. Once in awhile, though, I'm sure it won't hurt. I personally wouldn't bother if I wasn't going to use the seasoning so a tip could be: make them as a soup so that most of the seasoning is in the broth rather than on the noodles. Eat some broth with the noodles but discard what is left once the noodles are gone to at least avoid some of the sodium. Personally I wouldn't eat them more than once or twice a month, but I guess that depends on the person. I recently found Thai kitchen instant noodles. Not ramen, but similar idea with rice noodles--lower in sodium and much lower in calories. That is what I eat when I am craving a quick noodle fix. The broth is richer too, and very flavourful.

No nutritional value whatsoever, but it's what I can afford.
Sometimes, I will not use the seasoning and put pasta sauce on the noodles. More calories, but less sodium, etc.
    Tastes good too!
They're okay once in a while, but drink lots of water.
