Too Much of a Good Thing

If I don't regulate myself, I can become obsessive about going to the gym. In order to avoid that and maintain control, I aim for five days a week. It's working - I feel great - but then I'm guilt ridden on my two off days (one is today, the other usually falls on the weekend). All I can think about is how I want to go work out. Anybody else have this problem..?

I go through phases when I get like that but two strategies work for me:
1. To think that your body needs rest and overdoing it will lead to injury and possibly less successful workouts.
2. For me, I have a PhD to write and I remind myself that on non-gym days I have extra time to work on this, but for you it might be more time with your kids/family, time to read a book, time to experiment in the kitchen with new healthy recipe ideas etc.0 -
Definitely! I work out 6 days a week for an hour or two a day. Off on Sundays, feel very guilty that I don't work out that day. Also, as I'm gaining and losing the same 6 pounds for the last 9 months, I feel like I need to do more cuz I've cut the calories with food down to as low as I'll go, so as they say more calories out than in...if I can't cut the calories, I feel like I need to increase the exercise, but don't want to go overboard...getting desperate though.0
