They also plan to start cutting sodium.

They better not screw up Snickers

Must be due to an increase in sales for all of the peanut M&M's that I keep buying! LOL!

"Come 2014, it's going to be gone [king size bar], part of what Mars says is a broader push for responsible snacking."

So what's to stop me from eating 3-4 smaller size bars? This is ridiculous.

I just hope they don't mess up the flavor when the reduce the sodium

What's bad is that they will make them smaller and charge more

I cannot eat candy bars.. The idea of wasting 250 or more calories on a candy bar is not appealing to me. They are not that good in my opinion if I am going to eat junk I would rather it be a nice dessert, cake/frozen yogurt/chocolate cover strawberries or bananas. Or 250 calories worth of food. Its just so many calories for something that is cheap and not that satisfying to me.

Most of their stuff now is already under 250 calories. They've been posting the big calorie labels on the front of their packages for awhile now. The reduction in sodium is good news. I think they can reduce the sodium without much impact to the flavor.

i would prefer the 250 cal size. however, if they reduce sodium enough to change the flavor much, i'm not interested.

Snickers is my achilles heel. I hope they totally *kitten* up the flavor so I won't be interested any more.

One way to increase revenue without increasing prices is to reduce portion sizes. So, thanks a lot for the smaller candy, Mars >:|

I like it as an idea, if it didn't mean a big increase in price. It would certainly work for me - if I knew that all Mars products were 250 calories or less I'd be more likely to take one off the shelf and buy it without standing for ages picking my chocolate and potentially going for another brand. Those kind of promises work for me if they make my life easier.

That's not to say I don't love some other brands but if I know I have up to 250 calories to treat myself and can grab whatever I like from that specific brand - great!

    sugar attack anyone?

Mars (62.5 gram bar) 43.6 grams or 11 teaspoons of sugar

Twix (58 gram bar) 38.0 grams or 9.5 teaspoons of sugar

Turkish Delight (51 gram bar) 37.9 grams or 9.5 teaspoons of sugar

Snickers (62.5 gram bar) 34.1 grams or 8.5 teaspoons of sugar

the taste is the sugar. sodium is already modest at 140 mg for the snickers

dumping that much sugar into your body at one time seems crazy although I used to do it all the time

I eat all the sugar that I want every day and I have suffered no ill effects. And it has not interfered with my weight loss.
