Just started a fitness challenge - 56 days to go/advice

I am doing a fitness challenge at my gym. It will last 8 weeks with the winner getting $350. It is a combination of BF/Weight loss challenge.

any advice on what might burn the best calories. I do do the eliptical & TM, but just feel maybe one is better than the other.

I know that works on weight but will it do anything for body fat?
