Hi all... I have used MFP in the past off and on but had deleted my old account so I started a new one under the advice of my doctor to help me watch what I eat so I can 1) lose weight 2) increase my HDL's 3) decrease me Triglycerides and 4) be held accountable and make adjustments as needed.
I have a desk job that I work at full time, and manage my home and family. doesn;t leave much time for me so to get myself in a healthier way my main focus is diet and squeeze in what ever exercise I can when ever I can... I used to belong to a gym and loved working out but now the budget and schedule makes that difficult. I can;t wait for the time change so it will stay lighter later and I can start go for walks around my neighaborhood and up in the hills again. Where we live there are several trails with in a 15-20 minute drive that range from flat and easy to steep incline thru the hills. I am saving up so that I can get an elliptical for those days when the weather and all keep me from going outside to exercise. I have a set of dumbbells at home and am trying to teach my self how to use them. I also found my stability ball and hope my patch holds so I can use it and found a jump rope. I realized last night jumping rope is not as easy as it was when I was a kid. If I am lucky I can get 2 jumps in before the rope gets tangled in my feet... LOL
Started my newest journey on 2-5-2012 at 227# and as of today am down to 221#, not a bad start
Now I just need to work on quiting smoking so I can workout without being short of breath so quickly.
Hope you all have a great day...

I'm also in Albany! I go to the Y to workout nearly every day (I'm unemployed so I have time). I love trail hiking but don't get out there much.
Feel free to add me.0
