Hungry!

Hi everyone!
I just joined the YMCA a few weeks ago and have found that I am hungry - ALOT. I go over my normal 1200 calories and struggle to stay a little under my total calories after putting in my exercise time. I have noticed the hunger thing SINCE I joined the YMCA so I am thinking it is because I am more active.
Any suggestions?

1.) Eat your exercise calories
2.) Open your diary, and we can give you input on what you're actually eating0 -

That sounds reasonable. It's natural to be hungrier when you work out. That's why the site adds calories when you log exercise. You have to fuel those workouts with something. If you are saying that you are eating all your alotted calories and are still hungry, maybe take a look at what you are eating. Are you meeting your fat and protein goals each day? Keeping the sugar under control? Getting a good variety of vegetables so you aren't nutrient deficient?0 -
Ok I opened it up so everyone can see! haha. I also just changed it to show my sugar intake and I knew it was prolly a little high. I do eat back a lot of my calories but still try to end up at about 150 calories down. I cannot lose weight if I eat them all back.
Now the bad thing is - is that I can't exercise until evening - late evening so I don't eat anything else until morning when I do my fruits and vegis. I feel very hungry midday and it lasts through evening.
Thanks for any help you can offer again0 -
You're starving by midday because you're not eating any protein for breakfast and you are hardly eating any calories then! Up your protein intake and try and spread your calories out more to avoid the starving feeling. If you KNOW you are going to workout in the evening, it's O.K. to eat those calories earlier in the day.0

You need more protien!!!! MFP sets it way low for some reason. I try to eat between 80-100g of protien a day. Anything less than that and Im dying from hunger! Adding lean protien will not derail your weight loss so try getting more in for a week or so and see how you feel after that. I also like to get my carbs from foods that have whole grains in them. That helps me feel more satisfied as well.0

I glanced at the last few days and your diet doesn't look bad. But if I understand correctly and you are exercising at night and not eating afterward, I would suggest adding something other than fruit to your breakfast. Your body is likely needing the fuel after that workout. Maybe some greek yogurt, a slice of whole grain toast with an egg or peanut butter, some nuts or something else with protein.
I'm not a big breakfast eater myself, but I eat a very late dinner after I workout. I think you might benefit from a larger breakfast.0 -
You guys are awesome - I totally agree on the protein - I will get some greek yogurt and try to watch my sugar too. I knew the Healthy choice meals would kill me but they are good in just about every other way. I eat an apple almost every day too so I may drop that down to a few a week and mix it up. Also agree on the breakfast. I need to add something to it and maybe nix the crackers I am eating in the afternoon.
thank you!0
