I don't see a big change in my weight for last week but I see that clothes are looser, measurements changing .So I am loosing inches , just not that much weight. SO overall I am happy but wondering why this happens? Can someone please explain.
thanks

Are you exercising? If so, you are building muscle. So you are losing weight and building muscle at the same time.
  • That's happening to me too so I was wondering the exact same thing. I have to go back to my doctor soon and she wants me to "lose weight" what if I have lost inches but not a pound?

Muscle weighs just a little more. SO while you are toning up & this is why clothes fit better you are still gaining muscle :) well that is my reason.
  • So, 1 pound of fat takes up more space than 1 pound of muscle. You are losing fat and gaining muscle, so the numbers on the scale might not move, but you are making awesome progress!!

Inches are better than pounds anyway, because you do gain muscle..So congrats on losing those inches...

yes I have been exercising very regularly,5 days a week. Walking/Circuit training/ strenght training & Yoga. I keep weekend as off days.
  • I hear your pain! I was with Weight Watchers for 8 weeks, followed it religiously, exercise 5-6 times a week, and I lost only 2 pounds. I did lose 4 inches overall on my measurements. Several people suggested I wasn't eating enough, and it's very hard to know how much you're eating in calories with WW unless you convert all the points to calories. Someone suggested MFP. Here I am - my first week!!! I love the control and the details each day. This is my first week, and I am really hoping to see the scale move this coming Monday. I'm exercising now 6 days a week with interval training, zumba, pure cardio on treadmills/ellipticals.
