boiling eggs ahead of time

Options
Probably a silly question, but I'm doing it as we speak....if I boil eggs (hard) ahead of time to have on hand, is it best to shell them or keep them in the shell until I'm going to eat them? Thanks! (I need to learn more cooking techniques, lol!)

I eat two boiled eggs a day Monday thru Friday and boil them all on Sunday night. I do peel them after boiling.

So much easier to just peel them right away then just keep them in a ziploc bag and have them whenever you want. They keep for a long time.

Depends on where you plan on keeping them. I keep them in the shell in the egg carton they came in with the words hardboiled on it so I don't mix em up! Easier to take places this way, they dont get all wet and slimy!

Haven't thought about it I guess. I always leave them in the shell and stick them back in a marked carton. Probably makes no difference. They sell peeled ones too

I do mine once a week and leave the shells on. I'm sure it's fine either way :)

So funny I saw this post! I just boiled a couple eggs last night for the first time. I figured it would be a good thing to take with me for lunch/snacks. I kept mine in the shell until I was ready to eat, but I guess you could take the shell off ahead of time and store them in a tupperware or something. It was funny when I was researching how to boil eggs last night, because it seems there is a lot of disagreement in the best way to cook them. I ended up just following my favorite cookbook and mine turned out great.

    Method I used:
    -place eggs in pot
-add enough cold water to cover eggs by an inch
-bring water to a rolling boil on medium-high heat, uncovered
    - once water reaches a heavy boil, remove pot from heat and cover with lid
    -let sit for 15 mins
-drain water and run cold water over eggs until cool
    -put eggs in fridge

I shell them and wrap in a wet paper towel and put into a ziplock baggy

I eat 2 hard-boiled eggs for breakfast everyday. I boil 10 on Monday to take it to work. I leave the shell on and keep it in the fridge for a week.

Is this how we should boil eggs to make the shell an easy peel? I always have a hard time peeling the shell without it taking the egg white with it.

I basically do the same thing except I let them sit for 22 minutes because I use jumbo eggs. It was a recipe I got off the eggs.ca website.

I keep mine in the shell. Looks like it's an individual thing.
