What are some of your favorite easy healthy meals to make for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? I'm trying to get some ideas and inspiration. I'm a poor college student and cant afford a lot, but am trying to eat as healthy as possible.

    HELLO I GOT THIS YO!!!!

Black Beans (low sodium) cans .99 serves 3 1/2 cup servings

Lean chicken, I place in sandwich bags with low sodium chicken broth. Freeze, then when I dethaw they do so quick cause of the salt, however I just drain the fluid before I cook. YOU CANNOT BURN THIS, I swear, and it ALWAYS comes out tasty and moist. Whatever kind chicken you can find works usually.

Oatmeal, little more expensive at 2.50 box and only like 8 packets? But you should eat oats at least once week

Eggs, hard boiled, over easy whatever..... cheap, healthy EVEN WITH YOLK as long as you dont eat em everyday.

    Spinach. Enough said

    Fruit, veggies enough said

flaxseed meal, you can find for like 4-6.00 online, add to salads, smoothies, pastas w.e. It has more omega 3 in a teaspoon than a 5.00 salmon fillet!!!!!!! Great alternative supplement to expensive fish

Greek yogurt, 3.50 a medium bucket, serves usually 6-8 half cup servings

Stay away from store brand wheat breads. These ARE NOT healthy. Anything with more than 5-8 ingredients and things you cannot pronounce are horrible. Save your money here and buy a local bread. The 2lb loaf 5 ingredient kind wheat. 3.50-5.00

I can eat a whole food diet for around 40.00 wk easily, 25.00 wk if I stick to basics.

Fooducate is a good source of info on good foods. Scans barcodes and gives you the skivy on the go.

They have apps for this on smart phones.

iKristine had awesome ideas... I get a big bag slivered almonds at Costicartilage ($9 i think) and add 2-3 tablespoons to my greek yogurt in the AM and it seems to fill me up better + add protein.

I also tend to buy fresh meat one meal at a time from the butcher counter. I'm just cooking for me and I'm awful about letting food spoil in the freezer / fridge, so this ends up being cheaper for me in the long run. Last night, I got a tilapia fillet for dinner for $1.75.

I'm probably not the best about being frugal, but maybe that's helpful??

    Good luck!
