The Shuffle

I awoke to a cold rain this morning.. nothing motivates to go to the gym at 5 am like a cold rain...
But this is not about the weather...its about the iPod shuffle.. and its magic algorithm.
The songs can line up so perfectly.. and it really does not matter what your taste in music is. I happen to like Punk rock.. growing up in the late 70's and spending my formative years in the 80's hanging by the Skate ramp..
This morning, my iPod coaxed me into the gym.. with a little Offspring from the 90's.. it was perfect.. it kinda made me feel almost cool for a second, then I jumped on the elliptical and it was like the iPod knew it... It lays down the gauntlet....The little device cranked out power tunes from the Distillers..decedents, and the big boys..rising and falling with the interval work out I had chosen...
The fitness machine tells me my heart rate is in the zone and the iPod levels off with a little rockabilly one off followed by a long grinding sweat producing rocker from the Bronx..I push on through and its coming up on 40 minutes and I am about done.. dripping with sweat now..the iPod say's, no... you have one more hard two minute interval in you, and kicks over some Lower class brats and I rev it up as best I can...Whew...cool down....and the iPod knows..a little Flat foot 56...
load up your device...put it on...and let it take you for a whirl...
