Hi all! Anyone else on here dealing with tummy issues? I don't have the greatest stomach in the world in general, but since I've started counting calories and eating smaller portions I've found that when my stomach feels empty I have an acid reflux indigestion kind of burning feeling. Any recommendations? I'm trying to hold off on my next course of prilosec in hopes that my body adjusts on its own, but I'm starting to lose hope.

That sounds very odd. I had the opposite reaction. My acid reflux went completely away when I reduced calories and changed the kinds of food I eat.

Are you drinking plenty of water?
  • Could it be the types of foods you are eating? I don't know much about acid reflux!

I drink LOTS of water. I'm certain that hydration isn't a problem. I've never really had any heartburn until I started in with the calorie counting and smaller portions. I'm not really eating anything different, I'm just eating less of it. Not quite sure what's going on...

Time for a visit with your doctor I think. That's pretty strange.

It could be triggered by something you are eating, now you are eating less your body is reacting to it.

Does the indigestion start after a particular meal?
What does it contain? Wheat? Tomatoes? Pickles? Vinegar? Cabbage? Cucumber? Yeast? Onion?

Any of the above can cause indigestion, to name just a few that I know other people are affected by.

If you track when the indigestion starts each time you may be able to narrow down the likely foods from the meal preceding this happening.

    It was onion for me

i suffer with acid reflux/indegestion/heart burn/etc. Expert advice is usually small frequent meals.
Only other thing is that you maybe over doing the water , as i find sometimes that triggers my acid.
Sounds like a trip to the drs is probably good tho x
