I been at 1200 from the time I started in Nov before I joined this site. I weighed 155 pounds. I am down now to 123 and I have noticed strange things going on. So I checked with Mayo clinic online, it says I should be eating 1900 a day I guess to stay at my current weight. I am still trying to loss so when I subtract 500 calories from 1900 I'm getting 1400. My weight loss has become slower and slower. So I am going to boost myself to 1400 and see what happens. I exercise 1- 2 hours a day 7 days a week. So I'm thinking 1200 isn't enough.

How many calories are you all taking in?

Have you had any success when you needed to raise your calories? I remember my doctor saying 1200 was minimum for women, with lighter activity. So what do you all think?

A little under 3500, on average.

The first 4 months I did around 1200 and it worked fine for me.

I'm taking a half-way-to-goal maintenance break now though, and I'm working my way back up to about 1600. After a few weeks of "maintenance reboot" I'll go back down, but not to 1200 - probably more around 1300 or so - I'll use the 1/2 pound per week setting for the last half of the trip.

My goal is 1590, but when I exercise, I ususally eat back 200-300 of those calories in addition (MFP adds those in for me). It's working for me and I'm actually dropping the weight faster than the 2lb goal and I'm not hungry or dragging A. :) This is totally doable for the long haul... and I've got a long way to go.
