Polar F4 Battery Question

My HRM is not working. Tried yesterday and watch was stuck at 106 (no matter what I was doing), so I restarted and it stuck at 200...so I was thinking it must just be the battery. Then I research a bit on it and find this warning:

"Polar watches recommends that battery replacements in the F4 watches only be done by licensed agents. While you may perform the battery change easily, you will not be able to check and calibrate the heart monitoring software on the watch, which is what the agent will do. A Polar F4 that has gone out of calibration can give you the wrong information about your workout and put you at potential risk for injury."

My question is have you changed your own? If so, did it seem to work fine? If not, how do you find an agent to do it???

I had the same trouble with mine and I thought it was the battery too but i had no icon on my watch saying the battery was low, I went onto the polar website and it said its more than likely just the strap needing to be washed so I did that and its been perfect ever since. There was also a diagram on the polar website showing you how to replace the battery urself!

I have had the same problem (in fact, yesterday mine was stuck on 220 hr!). I wash my strap all the time, so I'm not sure why it happens; except I am not religious about making sure to thoroughly wet the electrodes before putting the piece on the strap. Do you run the electrodes of the strap under water?

I just run it under the tap but i make sure its fairly wet or I have trouble with it.
