Have you ever noticed that you get away with saying almost anything if you tack on "Bless Your Heart" to the end of it?

    I live in the South where 'bless your heart' is the equivalent of 'no offense but..." Next time you hear it go ahead and duck because there's a dagger heading your way.

    Yeah, I live in the South as well and I've said that too - you can get away with just about any insult if you end it with "bless his heart".
    Like, "that kid is so ugly, you have to tie a pork chop around his neck to get the dog to play with him...bless his heart" There, all better now - no insult meant at all.

    Just like people thinking that saying "no offense" completely negates the offensive comment. It doesn't work that way!
