Help!!!! Please tell me how eating back the calories you bur

How does eating your exercise calories help you lose weight????? Doesn't that defeat the purpose???? HELP~!!!!

MFP already sets you up at a calorie deficit. They don't include exercise. You don't need to exercise to lose weight if you follow the MFP numbers. So when you exercise, you create a larger deficit. By eating them back you are maintaining a modest deficit, which is ideal for a number of reasons.
Look at it this way, when you go to a trainer or nutritionist, they calculate your BMR, the rate at which your body burns calories just to survive, then figure out how active you are in daily life, those everyday things you do that burns calories, then factor in how active you plan to be exercise wise. They then create a deficit from that total.
MFP figures your BMR, you put in how active you are in daily life and that is it. It does not account for exercise which is why it is set up to tell you to eat those that you burn.
Two different formulas, but same end result.0 -
