I decided I had been doing well and deserved a peice of cake since it's someone's birthday at work today. Ugh, I feel awful now. I am soooo tired, I'm crashing from the sugar, I just feel like ick.

I'm going to the gym tonight, does anyone know how long the sugar lethargy lasts because I need to have energy for the gym.

Eat a complex carb/protein snack. That should bring your blood sugar levels back up without sending you sky high and crashing. Should give you energy for the gym. Good luck!

Would something like a trail mix with nuts, seeds, and raisins work?

Easy on the raisins - they are super quick sugar. That might set you up for a rush/crash again. But the protein and fat will slow it down a little - I just don't know if it would be enough. Wholegrain bread and pb would be great, string cheese and some fruit - do you have anything like that handy?

Don't forget a whole grain something or fruit or veggie for carbs to help! Let me know how it works for you.

it should only last a couple of hours, you should be all set after that.

I tried Atkins for a whopping 2 weeks and it was enough to rid my body of sugar cravings. It was weird! And whenever I'd have sugar, I didn't enjoy it and it made me feel horrible. Its amazing how much you learn about your body once you start eating better!
