What works hips, outer thigh, and inner thigh?

I've been working out consistently now since early November. I'm VERY happily noticing increased muscle tone on the front of my thighs and the back. Jillian Michaels is definitely helping me there! But, what helps with the hips, outer thigh and inner thigh areas? Will running help with those areas? I just started C25K this week and I'm wondering if this is going to be my answer.

I have a leg magic machine that I use a few minutes a day mixed in with my workouts. I am noticing my outer thighs are improving, inner not so much, but I am still a work in progress. I have bad knees, so I am not able to do squats or lunges.0

Basically ballet exercises. Most barre workout videos combine ballet and pilates to add more cardio since barre work is mostly strength training.0 -
