What works hips, outer thigh, and inner thigh?

I've been working out consistently now since early November. I'm VERY happily noticing increased muscle tone on the front of my thighs and the back. Jillian Michaels is definitely helping me there! But, what helps with the hips, outer thigh and inner thigh areas? Will running help with those areas? I just started C25K this week and I'm wondering if this is going to be my answer.
