I've heard diff things about this.... It's bad to eat late in the day and It doesn't matter...

Just wondering what your experience is... Does it affect your weight loss if you have a late dinner?

TIA!

WHEN you eat has no bearing on weight loss overall. The only reason eating late gets a bad reputation is because people tend to eat their normal daily calories in the day, THEN eat more at night. They then wrongly blame the fact they ate late, when all they actually did was create a calorie excess.

If you want to eat late, just eat less in the daytime, thus allowing you to eat late, but still maintain that calorie deficit.

Personally, 80% of my calories are after 11pm.
  • if you eat a big meal then sleep you are not working it off. I stop eating after 7 pm one hour before I am ready to go to my room and relax for the night.

Not sure, but I find whenever I eat shortly before going to sleep I wake up hungry. I hate that!

The ONLY time I notice a difference is if I eat my dinner really late the night before my "weigh in" day. Other than that. Just eat the right amount, and do it when you're hungry. It all evens out of the week. I weigh in on Tuesday and on that night I eat a 5pm dinner, and drink some extra water...then nothing after 6 to let my body have some extra time before I step on the scale. That's just how I work though. :)

It doesn't matter what time you eat. Food calories don't magically convert to fat at 9PM. It's counting your calories that matters.

If I eat late, I'm bloated in the morning. But it depends on how hungry I am too..

I've lost almost 100lbs and eat my main meal of the day at anywhere between 11pm - 1am (and go to bed around 2am), so makes no odds imho

I eat late every single day. Most days, I have ice cream right before I go to bed. I guess I'm a rebel!

I eat quite late and I don't think it really matters - its the overall calorie count that is what we're controlling. I do weigh first thing in the morning, thats when we're at our lightest!

It doesnt matter what time of day you eat. Just make sure that you dont overlap your days(e.g. make 24hour days an 18 hour day)
Always count after 00;00 as a new day to avoid error.
