I recently joined my local Y and I love it! The highlight of my day is talking to new and interesting people. On Friday, I took a spinning class (first time in over 2 years). I noticed an older woman, around 70-80 in my class. When we were finished, I approached her and introduced myself. I asked if she would pardon my rudeness, but I wanted to know how old she was. This woman was peddling like nobody's business! She told me she as 82 years old! She immediately became my inspiration! I told her that I was going to sit by her next week because I wanted some of her mojo! She told me that she would be my spinning buddy!

If she can do it, at 82 years old...what the hell is my excuse?

Oh and by the way...her husband is ripped! He's 87 years old and looks like he is 50! Well, they both look like they are 50! They've become my new gym friends!!!

That's absolutely incredible... I hope to be in shape when I'm that age!

I love to see fit seniors, it shows me that we can be active and healthy for our whole life if we take care of ourselves and don't have the misfortune of getting some bad disease. Perhaps it's easy to say at age 37 but I'm more interested in living a full and active life till my last day versus just living a long time.

I loveeee them, too! Over breaks from school at home I rejoin the YMCA and some of the best people in the spinning and kickboxing classes are the older! :)
