Protein Bars vs Protein Shakes...?

Great facts for supplementations but what about if it's just simple meal replacement?
I hate eating and running out the door - so a shake for me works as breakfast.
A bar as either an 'escape' from over eating something else - i.e. choc bar or whatever.. and therefore going over calories.
But also I can plan this as part of my day - for instance tomorrow I have a coucous/lentil cup and a protein bar to get me from 8am till 5pm. I leave the house at 6.20am so will be having a shake then.
I won't get in till 7pm at the earliest so have a pre-prepared meal from tonight as tomorrows dinner.. adding all those cals up I'm within my daily allowance.
I know this sort of plan isn't 'clean' but it's within my cals and works when I'm on the move / at Uni all day.0
