Hi
I'm new to all this and definitely need help and encouragement. Up to the last year I haven't ever thought about my health and would have been called the unfit skinny. Then last year happened when my dad got sick and whilst he was undergoing treatment I'd console myself with food. Then work fell apart where my whole team ended up with health problems and it wouldn't have been a surprise for me to be the only one at work any given day. So I ate even more.
Enough of the negative - my wake up call has been my Dad losing weight (after his treatment) and getting his own health on track - I need to focus on my health now as I realise just how important it is. No more stress and no more excuses that I'm okay how I am.
I've lost 3 kilos this month but am happy that I'm starting to make a change for the better and being way happier. Never thought I'd be so pleased being exhausted and puffing. I absolutely hate push ups but being able to do them easy on my toes is my goal right now.
So any help for a newbie or just a hi would be awesome.

Hello!
Given the fact that you're just starting, the most important thing is to ease yourself into it, food and exercise-wise. Don't do it all at once, don't cut out types of foods cold-turkey. About the exercise, pick up something that you enjoy doing (and is available), be that swimming, Zumba or just walking. You will feel stronger and capable to do more soon and that's what you're going for. In my case, if I start with something that is so difficult to do that I actually feel sick, I will probably avoid that activity all-together.
And the most important piece of advice: don't starve yourself. Do your research, read all you can, you'll see that protein is something you want for your muscles and cravings-control, etc.
Best of luck!0 -
