Hi Everyone,

I am new to MFP and am looking to make friends with people in the same boat as me trying hard to loose some weight in a healthy way. I would love to see people who were eating 1500 cals per day so that it can help motivate me and help to give me ideas for dinners and breakfast as I feel like sometimes I struggle.

I am a lady of 5ft 11inc and have given myself 1500 cals per day. I would love to loose about 18lbs currenlty I weight 210lbs which isnt too overweight for my height but I would love to feel healthy and better about myself and I feel getting support from others would help me a great deal.

Thanks so much for reading this and taking the time to help me.

Love

Jacqui

    Feel free to add me!

I started out trying 1200 calories a day with exercise, raised it to 1600, then I read an interesting blog post somewhere on the Internet from a woman who set her calorie intake at the weight she wanted to be, and it worked for her. I am 5'7, and want to be 145. My maintenance calories for that weight are 1463, so that's what I recently set my calories to. I am currently 181, so I have a ways to go, but am progressing rapidly!

One thing I learned very quickly, is that if I exercise strenuously (My goal is 60 minutes of cardio 6 days a week, plus a few days of strength training), that it's very important for me to eat back some or all of the calories I burn. For example: if I burn 700 calories on the elliptical, and I only eat 1463, I've burned off all but 763 and NEED to eat more. You'll see a lot of conflicting information on this site- some people swear by eating back exercise calories, some find it anathema to what they are doing. I listened to the former after the day I almost fainted in the gym! Find what works for you, work hard but go easy on yourself and love yourself through the process :)

    Welcome to MFP!!
