Cell Phone Buffs...Help!
I am looking to buy a new phone within the next few months. I have metro PCS, and they have a new touchscreen phone for sale, but it's pricey, $349.00, I love it but I don't know if I want to spend that much. It's this one: http://www.metropcs.com/shop/PhoneDetails.aspx?ProductId=SCHR810ZKAM(Phones)
I've looked on ebay for an iphone and you can get them cheaper than the Samsung Finesse, but I want to make sure they will work with my carrier (some auctions SAY they will, but metro PCS is CDMA based, not GSM).
Soooo, would an iphone work on a CDMA carrier? And also, does an iphone have a regular web interface? I hate having the internet be all smushed on my phone right now, I want one that looks like a normal web page when you go online.
I was also looking at the Motorola Hint , but I'm nervous that it won't have the right kind of browser that I want. It is $100.00 cheaper though. http://www.metropcs.com/shop/PhoneDetails.aspx?ProductId=83324GHEPA(Phones)
Help! :flowerforyou: I have never had a "high tech" phone before because I've never wanted to pay the extra $ for web and unlimited texting, so I've always had very simple phones. Now I want a better phone because I have unlimited web and texting.

the iPhone will not work on CDMA carriers. Not only that, you would have to get an "unlocked" iPhone to activate it on any other GSM carrier besides ATT.
I can't actually view the phone, because it's asking for a zip, and Metro is lot located where I reside. Check out Phonescoop.com or howardforums.com. They have a lot of users on there who can give you the best advise with regard to phones (like wellness on this site).0 -
Right, the ones I was looking at were unlocked and stated Metro PCS in their carrier list. I am just weary because some people think unlocked phones will work with ANY carrier and obviously if the iphone is a GSM phone, it won't work with a CDMA carrier.
Thanks for the link, going to check it out now.0
