So I am today on my 3rd day of the 30 day shred!
I'm incredibly sore, but I feel great at the same time.
But I'm wondering - should the 30DS be done 30 days straight, every day, or with rest days in between?

Hey! I finished Day 2 today and I'm aching all over too! I think we're suppose to do it every day, but it is also good for your body to have 1 rest day a week, so really it's up to you. I think I'm going to have a rest day but not include it in the '30 days' so really in the 30 days/4 weeks I'll do the program for 34 days, if you get what I mean?0

I'm doing it every second day, and going for a brisk morning walk (for an hour) on the other days. I believe Jillian Michaels is quoted somewhere saying she was surprised that people are doing it 30 days straight without any rest days, as that's not what she intended... but of course I can't find that quote anywhere at the moment!0

First week is the worst, remember to stretch more then the five minutes at the end, especially thighs if you are a beginner.
I did the shred with one day rest a week, between day 3 and 4 or 4 and 5, doing no excersise that day, not even a walk or other cardio.0 -
I ordered this over the weekend, am dreading it / looking forward to it after all the posts I have read on it! I will be having at least 1 day rest per week though, and also still trying to do my other exercises at some point (dancing / tae-bo) since I REALLY need to kick start my weight loss. I'd lost 5lb since Christmas but have been poorly for the last few weeks and have gained it all back
So, I am looking forward to the 30 day shred for lots of reasons

Have you completed the Shred? If so, how'd you go?!0 -
Hi, I'm on Day 23 and have only had two rest days so far (both in level 2 due to life interfering with my plans!). I found that day 3 of EVERY level is the day where you hurt the most. Unless it is injury pain, I would just push through as you actually should start feeling better from day 3 onwards. Then again, if you want a rest day then have one!!0

Depends on how much exercise you were doing beforehand, as well
I go to the gym 2-3 x wk and I also train martial arts 2xweek, so for me, doing it daily didn't seem like an epic leap in exercise, although I'll be the first to admit I got DOMS in my thighs on the 3rd day.
If you're new to exercising, rest days don't hurt - you don't want to go overboard0 -
I completed it and saw some lost in inches but not a ton in lbs. I was not on point on my diet, the results would probably have been better had I been more strict with my diet. This just comes to show how important diet is and how big of a role it has in weightloss.0

Thanks for the answers everyone!
I haven't done a whole lot of working out before aside from the strength and yoga in Wii Fit so my body is still adjusting.
I'm thinking I'll do two rest days during each level but not count them as part of the 30 days, and just do some stretches and possibly a bit of yoga on those rest days. Does that sound alright?
My body feels fine today and my arms aren't a whole lot sore, but dang my lower legs are giving me hell!0 -
I carried on through the pain and just took an ibuprofen to ease the muscles a little. lol
it did pass by about day 4 or 5 though so keep up the great work!
I have 'missed' 2 days but really do miss it when I don't do it, makes you feel great to know you got a good sweat on and see progress - which you will.0
