As far as your caloric intake, you have to get enough calories per day or your metabolism will shut down and you will not lose any fat. Food is critical in weight loss, you have to have it but you have to have it in healthy portions and smart food choices.
I drink about a gallon of water a day. You don't have to intake that much, but water is essential to a healthy lifestyle. Water will not accumulate fat, there may be some water retention, but with proper exercise that works itself out.
I'm a weight lifting guy. I think that at least some form of weight training is extremely beneficial to any type of healthy lifestyle and fitness program.
How long have you been running/jogging? Soreness is normal and something everyone experiences. It get's better in time but it just let's you know that you're doing something right and that those muscles are being worked.
Exercise will make you feel hungrier. Eating 5-8 smaller meals through the day will help you feel full longer than eating the normal three large meals in a day. I will use protein shakes for some of my meals and they keep me satisfied until my next meal.0 -
Nothing worth doing happens "really really fast." A time constraint doesn't make reality change. You're not going to drop 10% bodyfat in 2 months. So get that out of your head.
To answer some of your questions:
1. You don't need to, but it will certainly help. Building/retaining muscle can help you have a higher metabolic rate.
2. By eating.
3. You don't have to eat during specific times, but I'll address #5 now. If you're consistently eating too little you're going to end up losing a larger percentage of your weight from muscle. Not only that but eventually your workouts will no longer be as productive because you won't have enough energy.
4. No.
6. I'm guessing something is lost in translation here. Your legs feel "heavy" because they're tired. I'm sure someone can answer more technically, but you just ran up a hill. It's normal for your legs to be tired.
7. Please refer to what I initially said. Nothing worth doing is going to happen overnight.0 -
You had a tons of questions..lol anyway..
1. you can lift weights start at light weights first before you lift too much heavy weights..because strength training helps you burn more calories when your doing cardio.. more muscles, more calories you burn...
2. ofcourse if you jog and do vigorous exercise..youll get tired soon and you must eat. theres no way not to feel the hunger after doing a lot of running or jogging. Eat less carbs and eat more vegetables
3. Yes it is..you dont need to skip dinner just for you to lose weight. just watch your porions..divide your huge meals in half after 3-4 hours you can eat again.
4. drinking too much water cannot increase your fat..because fat weight and water weight is different... my professor in Nutrition said that, If you ate meat after a meal... avoid drinking cold water because cold water will make the fats more hardly to dissolve. Thats why they had wrong misconceptions about it. Water will not make you fat because it has no cholesterol.
5. Well you will have a calorie deficit, but make sure you're not starving yourself. As long as you are okay with that its fine.
6. Because running to fast especially when you're too heavy will affect your knees, Ive experiece that too sometimes I run so fast and that time I used to be very big and my knees get into trouble that I can hardly walk. So make it sure you're not running too much intensity for your weight. Take it easy as you lose, you can increase the intensity without getting any injury at all.
7. Dont be frustrated because it akes time to gain weight, so it takes you time to lose weight also.. be patient. You will notice a change some time soon. Keep up the good work and 2lbs per week is not bad. Good luck! :flowerforyou:0 -

1) Incorperating weight training is a good idea. I recommend Starting Strength (google it).
2) Go in the morning instead? Also check your diet. I'll come onto that later.
3) You should aim to eat 506 small meals a day to keep your metabolism ticking over.
4) The whole water thing is a myth. Drink too much and you'll pee it out. You only need to drink more if you're dehydrated. You can tell if you are by looking at the colour of your pee .
5) You will lost fat and some muscle. Muscle can be mitigated through exercise (i.e. your running) and weights. You can further mitigate by a lower deficit.
6) (see 7.) You're probably over training. Less is actually more.
7). Jogging every day, in my opinion, is a bad idea. I think one day on one day off is better. That way your body can recover properly between sessions and rebuild the muscles.
What is your diet? You need to be balancing healthy foods to support your exercise. Lean protein like chicken, Good fats like Salmon (also protein) olive oil, nuts, etc. And Carbs should be 'complex'. Think brown rice. Eat as many frozen peas etc as you like.
After your run is the only time I recommend eating 'simple' carbohydrates. One example for me yesterday was Chicken Curry (protein), Brown rice (complex carb to rebuild glycogen), and Mango Chutney ('simple sugar' carb to replenish lost energy more quickly).0 -
1.Do i need to lift weight (dumbells) to lose weight ?? muscles burn fats ?
** My Thoughts: Yes...weight lifting helps burn calories. The more muscle mass you have...the more your body will metabolize fat.
2.I always go for exercise and jogging in the evening and i always feel very hungry at night ! How to solve this ??
** My Thoughts: Join the club. I have the same issue w/ being hungry at night. I personally think it's more physiological than an actual hunger.
3.Is it necessary to eat dinner ??? i mean can i skip dinner ??
** My Thoughts: Eat breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince and Dinner like a pauper. I personally eat 5-6 small meals/day.
4.Drinking too much water doesnt causes body fats to increases ?
** My Thoughts: True that. Staying well hydrated helps your most of your body's functions as well as helping your metabolism.
5. What if my calories that i need to consume is 2400 per day,and today i consume only 1400,what is the effect of it ?
My Thoughts: A very low calorie diet is not good for your long term weight loss. Slow and steady in my opinion.
6.I usually run and jog up the hill in the evening and what i get in return, sweat indeed and my legs feel very heavy, why ?
** My Thoughts: Mmmm...you're tired. Running hills is a great exercise. I personally run stadiums stairs when it's nice outside.
7.Jogging everyday by pushing myself badly and hard making me feel sad and discouraged after i just lose 2 pounds this week
** My Thoughts: Pfff...slow & steady...you're NOT on the Biggest Loser. Be patient my friend.
Good luck!!!

Here is my two cents on it!
1. I don't think you NEED to lift weights but it burns alot of calories and that's good! Also muscle is good, the more muscle you have the more calories you burn even when you're not working out!!! But any kind of exercise is good!
2. Definatley have a snack at night....I like to slice a banana then top it with a sugar free or fat free pudding cup and freeze it..yum and not too many calories.
3. EAT DINNER!!!! Don't skip meals...your metabolism could slow down and that's the opposite of your goal. EAT DINNER!!!!
4. Drinking water is good for you...your body needs it....you're suppose to get 8 glasses a day but if you work out you need more. I would drink as much water as you want. It helps your muscles recover and flushes sodium and just does all kinda good things for you..google it
5. I would definatley eat at the top of your calorie allowance that way when you get closer to your goal you have someway of breaking through a pateau...cut your calories then. It's gonna be harder to lose the less you weigh so eat that many now while you can.
6. Your legs feel heavy because it makes your muscles tired...sweat is good!! Keep doing that!
7. Just stick with it...sometimes your body will retain water when you really work your muscles out good. It needs it to recover. Just keep it up and one of these days you will step on the scale and see a big whoosh! You can also gain muscle which weighs more than fat. But don't get discouraged you are doing great, just don't stop no matter what and IT WILL PAY OFF!!!!0
