new to the site

New and looking for support and new friends to take on this journey with me!
Not really sure what I'm doing yet, hope I learn fast!! Any tips or thoughts appreciated!

    It's pretty time consuming to start with as you add new foods etc but gets easier and quicker, just play around - you can't mess it up!!

    I joined last month and have become addicted! I love it! My sister and my daughter joined with me, but they are not really good about logging in their food and excercise and have not been sticking with it. But I have lost 14 pounds so far and am really enjoying this process. I hope you enjoy it as well. Good luck!

    first tip for the first weeks on MFP - focus on record your food daily, measuring your food and be honest about your food intake.

    Realize that you are changing your way of eating - look at it like a lifestyle journey not a diet.

    Read the forums and use the search option before making a post, some posts can get horrible replies and lots of questions could have been asked by previous people.

    Thanks everyone so far, I just have to play around, and yes I see it can be time consuming, guess since I'm not sleepin what better to do then play on here right?

    Thank you! I think what mfp does for me is make me think about what I am eating and do I want to work those calories off if I eat something really high in calories! I am starting to make much better choices, but I still get to enjoy my favorite foods occasionally.

  • I'm new to the site either, I set my food and my exercise, but I'm replying you because I need support not to break the good intentions to loose weight definetely, and so....please help me to be motivated because I break so easily just after a week or so!

  • Been using 'My Fitness pal' for a month now, but has only just signed up!
    Haven't been doing too good :( Put on 3.5lbs in 2 weeks! But I am ready to get back on track and I'm doing lent this year!
    Goodbye Chocolate, goodbye crisps, goodbye biscuits and goodbye junk food!!!!!!!!!!

    Really excited to get moving with this, I see I need to do some work at getting my goals and focus on why I'm her and what I really want to achieve, that is going to be my first step like anything in life it will take some time to get things running smoothly but I can see already there is a lot of Wonderful ppl on here looking for the support that I so need, well I might also need a kick in the butt @ times also! I have already lost 58pounds however have gained about 8 back. Down a few more and am seriously struGgling to see any progress and Its bringing me down (just a sneak peak @ who I am I guess). I'm not afraid to do the work I'm just insecure and let life, ppl get me down and then I give up and sabatoge myself! Right now I'm kinda in the Why me stage of denial and need to pull put of it and just make it happen again!
    Oh I know that thia journey is a Life long battle been @ it for my enitre life I just started making positive healthy changes in August of 2010 and have put lots of hours, and energies into getting where I am today!!
