Hi my name is Julie and I just turned 35 on January 27th. I started MFP back on january 8th when a friend had told me about it. I was at my highest weight not being pregnant, weighed in at 212 lbs. I couldn't believe it I let myself get to that point. I am only 5'2 so it put alot of strain on my body, not to mention I have problems due to a car accident in 1999. I was a mess and I need to do something about it now!

I was doing great for the first 3 weeks, I was down 16 lbs and feeling good and then my bff came to visit me and we splurged. We went to eat at all the places I shouldn't but oh well, if you don't fall off the wagon once in a while you never know why. Whats important is that I came back and I had so many wonderful women on here supporting and giving me such encouragement. I have been back as of feb 12th and I weighed in at 201. I am now done to 197.8 and counting and I am so excited bc I am almost back at my 16 pounds lost. That was a huge big deal to me. I have other goals that I know I will hit in time but for now I am already enjoying a skinnier me! If you ever need anything let me know, and I have wonderful, amazing and smart women on my friends list that know so much!

Good luck and remember, you can do this!

I'm 31 next month and although I've not done very well this year....in the last 4 years I've lost around 4 stone. I know it doesn't seem much but I'd rather take it slowly and keep it off. And it seems to work. When I decide I want a break from dieting, I tend to find that I still watch what I eat and hover around the same weight mark.

I started loosing weight the year before I got married, which was the same year as I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic. I managed to lose about 1.5 stone. I then carried that on and have done different thing, mainly sticking with Weight Watchers and exercise and good common sense!

My sis-in-law introduced me to this place in January and although I've not really been on the wagon at the moment, I do have my youngest step daughter's wedding in August which is motivating me.

Me and my husband are now back on the diet and exercise wagon. And I'm sticking to this religiously.

I've still got around another 4 stone to go until I reach my goal and as long as it keeps coming off, I'm not bothered whether it happens this year, next year or the year after. The most important thing for me is that it is coming off and staying off.

I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO HOW I WAS - and that is the main motivating factor. Plus I want to stay fit and healthy for as long as possible. If I have to foresake a year or so of being strict and then can enjoy the rest of my life not having to diet, then I think it's worth it it in the long run.

Keep at it and you'll find that it does start to fall off. I find that I get to a certain weight and then I come to a sticking point. If that happens, I tend to try and change what I'm eating or cut portion sizes down a bit, or change my exercise. At the moment, I'm trying to drink more water and less cups of tea at work. Small things really do make a big difference!
