shoprite has frozen burgers that are 150 calories, and get a light bun which is 80 calories. OR I have a great turkey burger recipe with bun for a little over 200 calories total0

last night i made turkey burger sliders. It has satueed onion, swiss cheese, green apples, wheat bread, and a tiny dab of honey mustard. under 500 for big burger. almost 400. it was delicious.0

Lettuce wrapped turkey burgers - no bun0

My burger weakness is In-N-Out cheeseburgers, animal style. So so good! I treat myself every so often, and if I want to make it slightly healthier, I order it protein style, and it comes wrapped in lettuce and without that delicious toasty bun. It's messy to eat, but still good!
My favorite homemade turkey burger comes from Serious Eats: http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2010/05/grilling-asian-turkey-burgers-with-sriracha-mayonnaise-recipe.html
Serious flavor in that turkey burger! Yum!0 -
ground beef (try the free range grass fed variety, so so so good) + spinach + sauteed onion. Really the veggies are to create a bit of a filler so you eat less actual ground beef in your burger. If my judgment is right, a quarter pound burger stuffed with spinach and onion... plus a 100 calorie bun (generic number for a wheat bun, usually a good guess) is going to cost you roughly 400 calories.
And I love to bake/eat bread so nixing the bread seems silly.0 -
We leave our the buns and top with sauteed onions/mushrooms/peppers. The kids weren't crazy about it until we told them they were called Hamburger Steaks LOL0

Yup. It all comes down to portion control. Making your own burgers (or any food, really) makes it much easier to control the calories.0 -
I do angus, preferably free range ground beef. It has a ton of flavor. I have 4 ounces on a bun with onion, tomato and claussen dill pickles. It's delicious and pretty low in calories. Much lower than if I order one in a restaurant.0
