Need support to lose weight gained after injury

Hi! I run on a D1 track and cross country team. About a month ago, I was diagnosed with two pretty serious stress fractures (one in each leg). Since then, I've had to get around on crutches, and my athletic department won't let me do any excersise, not even pool running or upper body. I won't be able to start even cross training for another couple of weeks or more. Although I've been trying to watch what I eat, I am used to such a high volume of excersise that without it I've gained a solid 3 pounds this month. Although I don't want to restrict my caloric intake until after I've healed, does anyone have any advice on the best way to get my weight back down after I'm better? Anyone else in a similar situtaion?
