Thought I would go ahead and start the thread this morning! I hope everyone's Friday has started out wonderfully!

Yesterday was such a great run. Beautiful weather, good pace. I felt like I could go for miles and miles.

Today is another beautiful day and I plan on taking full advantage of it this evening after I get off work!

No weights today. And my plan is a 5 mile run today!

If life isn't crappy enough with bad shin splints I go and injure myself some more!

Wednesday after bootcamp I went to stand up and my foot was asleep. When I stepped down I rolled my ankle and then I fell on top of other people. :embarassed: Needless to say my ankle swelled up to the size an ostrich egg. The swelling has gone down but now the ankle is black and blue and red and still a little swollen. No running for at least another week.

I thought it was forty and fabulous - not 40 and falling apart! :smokin: (OK, I am not 40 yet but very close)

Have a great weekend everyone. It is supposed to be great here.

Gosh Sherry! I'm sorry. I HATE it when my foot falls asleep....but I've never had an incident like that before. That makes it even worse.

Hopefully you'll recover soon and be able to get back on track.

wow, im really sorry about that, i had a knee injury a few years back and know how terrible it is to be out of commission.

anyway, its beauuuutiful here today, and i am planning to do week 4 day 3 of the couch to 5K! I am trying to finish by midmay, so I have to go at a bit faster pace than the weeks say, so hopefully it will be doable!!! im scared that next week im supposed to be able to run for 2 miles/20 minutes. right now that seems kind of impossible. wish me luck!

Aw, Sherry...I'm sorry to hear about your ankle. Take care of yourself and I hope it heals quickly.

Just got back from 8.5 mile run. What a gorgeous day to be outside. Enjoy your day runners!

Hi ya'll! I'm feeling sorry for myself today... came down with the stomach flu yesterday and it was BAD. I even fainted last night when I got up in the middle of the night to change and feed the baby. My husband heard me call for him so he ran in the room just as I was falling over. Thank God the baby didn't roll off the changing table! I'm so thankful things are better today. I'm not running, though, because I want to let my body heal for a few days. YUCK! I hope you all have a great weekend! I'll be back at it on Monday.

no running for me today (i'm starting back up tomorrow) i've been battling some awful cold all week :grumble: HOWEVER it's my birthday today  so I chose baseball game in the city after work instead of a run :blushing:

sherry keep your head up! us girls with shin splints must stick together. i am no stranger to bruising. at least your ankle will get better...my inside shin will forever bruise when i run. WE CAN DO IT!!

I haven't posted most of the week but I am proud to say I am running again after a little break for my back. Been averaging 6 miles a day walks, it was nice to get it done a little quicker yesterday and today

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: for Sherry and Kate

My darling son and I did day 3 of week 4 of Couch2k. 70 degrees and sunny for our run. I LOVE SPRING. My son was hot and miserable and I just told him "know you know why mommy gets up early in the summer to get her run in:wink: "
