Need help entering "workout"

Ok I need some advice on how to record my walking. I have a pedometer that I carry on me. I have sedenatory lifestyle however I am often moving around but its not really walking straight all together. At the end of the day, I just select walking @ 2.0 mph and divide up the miles on the pedometer into the time spent (eg. if pedometer said 1.0 miles, it would be 30 mins of walking @ 2.0 on MFP). Can anyone else think of better ways to calculate? I would prefer not to change from sedenatory lifestyle because it varies for me daily
