Good morning pebbs!
How is everyone? V, I think I am starting to understand your sickness and dealing with the no exercising a little better. Turns out I am sick again! It hit like a truck yesterday and I had a fever and aches in the night. I hope it's not the flu again. I really just started getting over the last one about two days ago.
Alex is doing okay even though his left eye is crusty, swollen and red. Today will be a day of movies I assure you. I still have yet to watch the Biggest Loser this week. It's about to storm out, so this is definitely a lazy day!
My goals for the day:
rest and nap
drink water
Gotta go. Have a good day! I hope you hear from the doc today V!

Hi MM - sorry you are sick again. I hope you feel better soon! WL - I like your new goals. I have a hard time not rewarding myself with food/drink as well.
I have a pretty busy weekend ahead of me, but I'm going to need to find some time for at least a couple of workouts - since I missed my strength routines all week, I need to do something to make up the step conversions that I didn't get to count. (I am on a team at work for a challenge until the end of May, so I want to make sure my average for the week is at least 10,000/day.) Running, and at least one other good workout. At least the weather looks nice!

I went to the doctor. (we've managed to spend $500 that we don't have in the last 24 hours.) I have a sinus infection and an upper respiratory infection. Nice. I hope this is it for awhile. I want to get back to working out and feeling good. The scale at the doc's said 162! :noway: That's about 7 pounds heavier than when I last checked at home. Yeah I really needed that.
I will try my best to watch what I am eating over the next few days. It's not going to be easy.
I hope everyone is okay. We're having t-storms today.

Hi, my pebbs. . .
I just got back from a post-doctor visit mani-pedi followed by a cheeseburger and fries. (from an "organic burger joint" (I'm not making that up) two doors away from me.) The news was both good and bad. First off, it's neither lupus nor mono. So, that's good. (especially that it's not lupus, which was pretty scary). The bad(ish) news is that my bloodwork showed signs of "systemic inflammation" (something somewhere is inflamed) and my white blood count was not what he wanted it to be. Also, when he pressed around on my stomach, I yelped when he put pressure on both my gall bladder and my spleen. So, I had more bloodwork (extra fun with my commendably low blood pressure and low resting heart rate) and an EKG. I was told to not do any strenuous exercise for the next few weeks (yoga is OK, and he said Bikram was OK, but only if I feel strong on a given day. . .it's borderline "pushing it" according to the doctor). He's tending towards arthritis (of the either RA or Psoriatic (sp) sort.) RA would be the worse of those two options. He's also apparently running a full bloodwork, for other options. I specifically asked to not be told what else he was testing for, as I go online and latch on to the worst possible case, decide I'm dying next Tuesday and start picking hymns for my funeral.I'm a deadly combination of professional researcher and semi-professional worrier.
MM, catch up on your rest and your movies. I was also unpleasantly surprised by the Doctor's scale. According to him, I weigh 150. He reinforced what my trainer's been telling me . . .essentially that the scale number is useless once you're in very good shape. (which I don't think of myself as being in, because I'm not "skinny") I'm still in the same clothes I was wearing this time last year at 137, and they fit fine. The doc. assured me that I am not "overfat", a term I enjoyed. As it was a full physical, he got a good look at my body, so I'll take that as true.Still, the stupid numbers are stupid.
Today, I'm probably going to do my yoga at home. I have this workout I cut out of a "Yoga Journal" a long time ago, which is all poses that are supposed to "ground me". I feel like I need that today. There's a mid-afternoon Bikram class tomorrow, so I'll try for that.

Positive thoughts boogaloo!!!!!!
Viv, was waiting to hear the results and I'm glad that he ruled out something scary like lupus. But of course waiting for the rest of the results is going to be hard, so I'll keep thinking good things and whatever it is, you know that you can tackle it head-on.
I like your thought on the "grounding" yoga. I'm going to yoga tonight to the Friday night "happy hour" workout.
Other goals today:
~ Don't let myself get so hungry that I binge
~ Show restraint tomorrow when my mom comes over for a visit
~ Get outdoors to workout this weekend at least once
~ Bike to the gym for yoga0
