Losing Motivation

I did well for about 6 weeks and dropped 12.5 lbs. Although I've lost motivation, seem to be making excuses. I'm doing a 5k in 3 weeks, that is the only thing keeping me moving. But I seem to be less cautious about my calories/eating habits.

I know I can only answer this for myself. I feel like I'm getting overwelmbed by my busy life, and of course I seem to put myself last. My house is becoming more cluttered by the day.

You've done great so far! Don't undo all of that hard work :) concentrate on your race and set days for training. For example I've just started to run again and I've set Mon/wed/fri. Not if I feel like it, or if I've got time....Mon/wed/fri!!! Think of it like work, you gotta go to work right? So no excuses! If you put effort into your training I think the food falls into place eventually. Good luck with your race, I know you'll be great! X

WOW EJsMummy26- don't give up now!! Your doing so great!! Think of how you want to be fit for your family and for your life. You have so much more of it to go- the habits you have for taking care of yourself will last a lifetime!!

Sounds to me like your overwhelmed and stressed. Find a way to calm that down for yourself- I have songs that soothe me and make me feel calm when everything around me is chaotic. When I feel that way putting on my iPod and headphones and just sitting there breathing in thru my nose and out my mouth and really listening to the song help me calm down and put things back into perspective. For me it is a form of meditation, and pulls my mind back into perspective.

    You can do this!!

Right there with you some days BUT I just try to give myself a break. You've started the hard part....don't give up now! Find a motivational picture, ask for help at home, just breathe. You can do this. Look at yourself and see the difference. Measure yourself and see the change. Keep one foot in front of the other! Feel free to add me as a friend.

As for the house, I don't think we ever catch up. As long as the crew is fed, there is clean clothes on their backs, and they are smiling and love you that's all that matters. The rest will fall in line.
