I feel like i'm ready to incorporate weight training into my workouts but i really don't know where to start? I know the basic moves on most machines but i need some sort of schedule or guideline to follow (how many days a week, which body part do i work on, etc). I'm still in the early stages of weight loss (started Jan 10th, 2012) but i want to build muscle not just lose weight. Any help is appreciated :)

I have found the most complete and understandable info for beginners on Steve's site. Plus it's funny and lighthearted.

Just browsed around on the site and it's pretty awesome, thanks!

Also thinking of checking out the New Rules book, thanks everyone!
  • Try P90X. Its a well rounded fitness and nutrition program. It has weight & ab workouts 3 times a week, cardio 2 times a week, and flexibiity once a week. I've had great results with it.
