I would recommend that you get a pair that you just wear at the gym. I current use the New Balance 856 Stability Cross Trainer. I chose the cross trainers because I do a variety of workouts. I use them for weightling, running on the treadmill, indoor track, or for some of home workout programs like P90X, P90X2, and others. I also have issues with arch, pronation and others. So my Dr. recommended stabilty running shoes or cross trainers and I have inserts as well. Mizuno has great tool to help you pick running shoes that you could use to help pick out the right shoe for you even if you not looking for running shoes. It will help you if you footwear for stability, control, or neutral. Then you look for shoes from any brand that suit your needs.

If your mainly working out in the Gym doing weights and some cardio a cross trainer would a good place to start. They usually have stabilty built in.0 -
Like I mentioned on your page comment, I like the Vibram FiveFingers. I have the classic and the Komodosport LS. The classic is a little better for indoor stuff and the Komodosport LS is good for walking and running (slightly thicker sole). I tell people that it's like walking barefoot, but you can walk across the gravel without the sharp rock dance. They do bring a lot of stares from people, though. One of my friends calls them monkey feet. You can find out about them at www.vibramfivefingers.com . My son rarely wears anything else.0

Ooohhh! Ken, I've been shopping for Five Finger shoes for months. My son bought some in like October and he loves them. I'll buy some as soon as it's at the top of the list. I want an HRM first. : )0

Opinions vary about whether more support is better or more natural is better. It is worth noting that most of the companies that make athletic shoes are now making minimalist versions of their products. I love mine. It just takes a couple of days to get used to having something between your toes.:happy:0
