I've been a member here since april 22, 2011. Coming up on a year, and I haven't lost a pound.... In fact I think I'm up a pound. I haven't logged in EVERY day since then, but my longest run was over 100 days. Any ideas on changes I can make to help get this loss going? My husband is sick of me asking him for help and I'm a bit sick of his lackluster attitude about something so obviously important to me. I don't know if I should go to see a doctor and get some blood work done. I've had it done over 2 years ago and it was all normal. Should I hit a dietitian for advice? I'm bumping up my exercise with insanity now, I'm on week 2, and I drink my water but don't record it. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm really looking for tips for things that I can sustain and maintain and do in my regular life. I don't want food plans or fasts or things that I can't do for my whole life. Thanks so much in advance. (feel free to be mean, i could use a kick in my fat behind!)

Let's start by logging your water and your exercise on the site and the challenge spread sheet. Log every thing you eat. I can tell you that I have PCOS and it is hard as heck for me to lose weight. I have to watch my carbs each meal, but that is because PCOS isn't officially cased as Diabetes, but as a hormonal disorder, but they have found that following a balance carb/calorie meal is essential for my weight loss. If you have any questions, I'm more than happy to be a sounding board.

I just looked at your diary. You're killing yourself on how you eat. Break your food down to 3 small snacks and 3 medium meals and you'll do so much better. You're either going over your set goal and not exercising to make up, or going under 1200, and your body doesn't like that kind of yo-yo'ing. You need to come to a healthier way, but don't give up anything you like. Just learn how to budget your calories better.
  • I have to agree with the other post, but I would also advise going to a dietician, they might be able to explain to you what you might be doing wrong and how to improve it. I know if you are on blood pressure medication, that that can slow down the weight loss (don't stop taking it) Good luck, if you need a sholder just e-mail me. Keep your head up.
