Just started a 3 month challenge with a friend with a $250 bet on the line for losing weight together. He's starting off around 217, I am up to a whopping 262 pounds. Goal for the bet is to be down 15 pounds each on May 20th, three months from today. However, hoping I can Lose more like 25 by the end of the three months through nutrition and working out.

Injuries coupled with a busy lifestyle travelling for work and here I am, hoping to utilize this site to drop the weight. Have a few weddings in the fall and I am going to need to be looking good for those!

Anyway, good luck to all of you out here!

So - what's your plan? You say you want to lose 8 pounds a month for three months - 2 pounds a week average. That's a deficit of lke 7000 calories per week.

How many hours per week/minutes per day are you giving over to working out? Where and when are you working out?

Have you put your goals into MFP to see what your calorie level needs to be daily? Found your favorite foods in the data base to get an idea of where you need to make changes?

While you are starting for a contest, you need to decide if this is a temporary thing or the start of a new, healthy lifestyle. Lots of MFP folk are changing their futures, losing weight and making permant changes.

PS - since you have the larger margin to lose, you will drop weight faster if you stay focused. Good luck.
  • Well. I've been using a couple of injuries and the fact that I travel as excuses to just be lazy.

I'm currently using a loose combination of the body for life program by bill Phillips mixed with some aspects of that guy who is doing the fit2fat2fit.

The goal is currently 5-6 workouts per week. (3 cardio,3 weightlifting). I've also changed my diet to try to keep it at 1600-1800 calories per day while mixing in some whey protein shakes after workouts.

The bet itself is a short term goal, but there is a bigger picture in mind here
