Did you cook it with onions? If so no. I would0
-
Does it look and smell OK? Probably safe enough.0

I usually have food in a bag that I carry around with me all the time! I'd just try a few bites and if nothing happens within an hour or so... eat the rest up! I'd probably eat it ;D0
-
I wouldn't chance it.0

It'll be fiiiiiiiiiine!0

Cooked chicken should be fine...0

Sniff test!0

Cooked chicken should be fine...honestly! It's cooked. Sealed in a container!
My friend left rice (Disgusting I know cos of the bacteria, especially the ones that live on rice, that even heating won't kill them!) for 3 days and ate it whilst drunk, and she was completely fine!0 -
I quoted? -.- clearly too early in the morning for me.0
-
If it's cooked, it should be A-OK.0
-
Definitely not! It will have been I. The danger zone (5 and 60 degrees Celsius) for more than 20 minutes. You will make yourself sick0
-
I wouldn't eat it. Why take the chance of getting sick. 12 hours is a long time to keep it sitting out.0
-
How warm was your house overnight? I ask because I've just woken up and I'm sure my house is the exact same temperature as my refrigerator...if you didn't have much in the way of heating on, it'll be fine at this time of year.0
-
I've done it a billion times ok maybe not that many but it's cooked and sealed I'd eat it unless it's been 80 degrees or above in your kitchen lol.0
-
If it's cooked it should be ok ... Depending on your climate .. If it's warm where you live, I wouldn't chance it .. Not worth getting sick ... If it's cooler .. Should be alright !0
-
no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

I would not eat chicken left out for 12 hours. But at least in the US for food handling it's more like 4 hours than 20 min before it's dangerous....0 -
When in doubt, throw it out.0
-
Its around 70 in my house but I think a little cooler... I like it cool!!!
Its cooked with mushrooms...
I am putting it back in the fridge for later... smell is ok!!!
thanks0 -
I am sure it's fine. People tend to freak out these days about food safety when it's not needed. It would be a shame to waste your chicken.0
-
Ick, I would say no. Even cooked chicken shouldn't reach the "danger zone" for more than a couple hours. That's kind of dangerous. I mean I am sure you won't die or anything, but that's not really safe to eat.0
-
I do it all the time, especially when we've had a roast and there's no room in the fridge. Obviously there's a risk but isn't that the same with everything? If you eat and it makes you sick there's no guarantee it was the chicken anyway, so many bugs going around you can get just as sick from thin air....just my opinion. Why waste food?0

Ah well - at least any food poisoning will probably lead to weight loss0

hi.. i work as a cook in a childrens play centre, the guidelines are it should be kept in a fridge and i would never serve it to the children but i have eaten it myself and it was fine. suppose it depends how warm your room is.0
-
umm, yeah 12 hours is nothing. You will be more than fine. I have left food on the stove for 24 hours after cooking it (I'm a bachelor, dont judge me)
Once cooked, you have about 24 hours to put the stuff back into the fridge. Ofcourse it depend son the dish, the more...liquidy the higher the chances it'll go bad faster. Also depends on the temperature. The colder your kitchen is, the longer it'll last.
The best thing to do (and the reason humans have this amazing technology) is to just snif it. I ALWAYS snif food before putting it in fridge and snif it before eating0 -
Ach - If it were me I would eat it. I don't tend to adhere to the rules too much. I wouldn't serve it to a child/old person/guest
I used to work in the food industry and am fully aware of the rules - temps and 20 minute rule etc, but I don't always apply it to myself at home.

I had too many microbiology classes. I say no. But I have issues because I know what bacteria could be growing.
http://www.fsis.usda.gov/help/faqs_hotline_preparation/index.asp#6 <---they agree with me ;-)0 -
With out a doubt do not eat it. If its left out for that long most likely its growing bacteria regardless of being in a container or not. It may work for pizza but meat, not so much.0
-
I wouldnt eat it if your gona have it cold but just reheat it adequately, you'll be fine !0
