Gumtree quetion
Question: last night we sold our table and chairs from Gumtree. The man came and collected it last night but 2 hours later text to say it was a bit too big and was going to bring it back. I replied and said we couldn't take it back as we had arranged for our new one to be delivered and that the dimensions were clearly stated on the ad. He replied and said he was still bringing back. Should we take it back or should I reply and say we are absolutely not taking it back?

My text to him:
Hi Wayne, If you buy goods from a retailer then yes you absolutely have the right to change your mind. However if you buy goods from a private individual, for example, through an advert in a newspaper or shop window or in this instance Gumtree you have very few legal rights. I emailed Gumtree this morning and they replied with: "as the description of the advert matched the goods (the table and chairs) then i am under no obligation to give you a refund". I am sorry Wayne but we will not accept the table back or give a refund.
His reply to me:
Am not been funny far from it but i would like my money back i will take a loss of ten pound for the inconve but we can not keep it sorry i dont want to be funny with you guys
I really need some advice please help.0 -
I'd tell him to jog on. If he gets funny, report it to the police that you are being threatened.0

I would tell him that you are not being funny either and you are NOT taking the table back0
-
I would not take it back0

Absolutely do not take it back, do not give a refund. I would send one last text and say you are not doing either one and any more contact with you will be reported to the police as harassment, and do what you say. Report it if he continues.0

The term here in the States is *kitten* him.
He didn`t even have the courtesy to ask but just said I am sending it back by the sounds so tell him to get lost.0 -
first of all, he did not ASK hes prettymuch telling you...RUDE. Secondly, if he wasnt sure of the measurements he shouldve asked to make sure they fit. if it doesnt fit then he should deal with it himself. not your problem!0
