Low fat on a budget

From time to time I see comments on how it is more expensive to eat healthy. Though I would post this link, it has some great ideas for keeping the cost and the fat down.

I started buying the yogurt in the large containers. It is a pain in the butt to measure it out but it is cheaper.:flowerforyou:0

I think that was the initial feeling that I got- "Holy cow! It's expensive to eat right!"
After looking around each grocery store for the items that we purchase, surprisingly Publix has the cheapest stuff for us. That, and they have the freshest of produce here in South Carolina without having to go to the farmer's market.
But, after looking at all the stuff we really 'need' and not the impulse items, we found that it's about the same price for eating healthy as it is for eating junk. Especially if you factor in the eating out aspect.

Bingo! That's been my theory too....but I know that you have to be a little creative or it can add up....especially at my house where I have a 21 year old boy pouring the fridge into his mouth on a regular basis (he's an athlete, so it's justified - but expensive!)0
