I am looking for a music solution, if you will. My daughter wants an iPod for her birthday (which is today, way to drop the ball mom) but I am not willing to purchase something this expensive for her at such a young age. My question is do any of you have a media player that works well for your young children and where do you get the music from? I have heard to buy a cheapie MP3 player and then just purchase the music off of Amazon. I am totally media player illiterate as I just use my phone for my music! I have heard that iTunes don't work with off brand media players, etc. I need some advice! any info would be awesome!

If you do want to splurge & get her an iPod you can go with the Shuffle which is about $40-$50. Basically you hook it up with iTunes, purchase music & that's all it does is play music. No games, no video & etc. If you don't think she'll take care of an iPod or it's too much $ to spend I'd go with a cheaper mp3 player. I had a video Sansa that worked pretty good for a while. But now that I have my iPod I'll always have an iPod. :)

I would go with an ipod, too. My daughter is 5 and has an Ipod shuffle. She loves it!
