Do you stick to your same type of "diet" forever?

I was reading some today and I found this, it makes complete sense to me, but I don't see it talked about much.
"You see, even if you think you've found the perfect diet, it won’t always be perfectly perfect. Making adjustments based on your ever-changing needs -- especially as you get older and wiser -- is normal. I like to refer to this philosophy as “flexitarianism.” Some define this as a vegetarian who occasionally eats meat. I beg to differ. To me, it means you eat with an open, observant mind, shifting your diet as needed to suit your personal nutritional needs." Tony Horton (yes, the p90x guy)

Yes, I will always eat Paleo, clean eating, controlled carb whatever you want to call it.
As I move through my journey the level of fat and carbs that I eat will inversely adjust as I get closer to my goal weight once again, but I will still be living and eating the same lifestyle.0 -
My diet consists of "put real food in mouth" so yeah, I'll probably try to stick to that.0

You don't really need to stick to the same diet, however assuming your lifestyle doesn't change upon reaching goal weight, you must continue to eat a stable amount of calories for the rest of your life by whatever means possible. And don't expect the body to ever stop resisting and wanting to eat more calories.0

Yup! I will always eat what tastes good! I'm an 'eat anything in moderation' kinda gal!0

I figured the "whole food/real food" would be a given, appearently not. I'm speaking of how you eat aforementioned "real food".0 -
I don't do "diets", but if you mean eating mindfully and measuring what I eat, then yes, this is for life. Otherwise I'll be back to my original weight.
I didn't particularly change what I normally ate when I started here, just the amount. My portion control was crap! Even though I ate healthy stuff like humous, oily fish, avocados, cous cous, I took no account of how many calories there are in those foods. I still love to eat them all, but I don't eat humous and peanut butter by the tub/jar anymore *sigh* These days I save "treats" like oily fish and avocados and the fabulousness that is PB for days I burn more from exercise. Kinda weird to be seeing healthy food as a treat, hey?
I swapped my 250ml wine glass ("I'm only having a glass or two of wine" I used to say), for a old fashioned round champagne glass (holds 125ml), and my brain just sees a full glass of wine. I get to still have the glass of wine and feel satisfied, but for less calories. :drinker:
Like most of MFP-ers here, I see my success is based on a healthy lifestyle over all, and that's a life-long commitment. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and all those other tedious cliches0
