Heart Rate Monitor

I'd like to get a HRM that also measures my calories, but I am a poor little social worker. Before I drop three figures on a fancy watch, does anyone have suggestions? What is a good HRM? What is an affordable HRM that works pretty well? Should I shell out the cold cash or go easy on my wallet?

    I have a polar FT4. It does the calories and you can generally find them for under $100.00.
