1450 calorie limit?

I reset my calorie limit to 1450 because the automatic advice from MFP was like 1900 and thats too much to me. I keep within the 1450 during the week and if I exercise will eat those calories back. But the weekends is a whole different ball game. Im a server so im constantly on a different sleep/eating schedule (if I eat at all) and cant manage to keep up with healthy eating or exercise. Should I leave my calories at 1450 and try to maintain it consistantly or go up to 1600 on the weekends because of being a server......? I dont log the amount of calories i burn at work everyday because if I did itd be ridiculous....and it never stays the same. Help or suggestions???

It looks like you're doing well based upon your ticker. I would only change things if you're stalling.0 -
I'd eat at least at your BMR... but what MFP gives you sounds right. Going too low isn't healthy either.0

58 out of the 62lbs I lost were from 2 years ago. Ive only lost 4 since ive joined this and thats mostly from where I was sick on meds constantly....thats why I was asking. Idk, I guess ill see how I do on 1450 for a few weeks. If I gain then ill amp it up to 1600.0 -
Mine was originally 1700, I changed the activity level, because I'd rather not pretend I do oh so much and hinder myself. Now I just log strenuous activities, which otherwise would have been included.
So MFP suggests 1550 for me now. Most days I struggle with eating that much, except weekends. I try to stay above 1300 net.
I'd say as long as you feel you have plenty of energy, and you get your base nutrients in (I take a multivitamin). You should be fine. If you get hungry, or moody, you'll know something's off.0 -

I honestly dunno what to put for the activity level, if i put light id be lying because im a server and stay pretty damn active at work thursday-sunday. but If i say medium for sure i feel like im lying because mon-wed I usually dont work out (although I have been lately). And eating 1450 + whatever exercise calories I burn causes me to feel a little hungry....but idk. My BMR is 1700.....does that mean thats what I need to eat to maintain my weight or to loose it?0 -
BMR - basic metabolic rate (or something like that) is the amount of calories you'd use if you stayed in bed doing nothing all day (as in, it keeps your heart pumping and your brain ticking, but scratching your back isn't included)
Some people say don't go under it, some say it's ok as long as you stay above 1200...
If yours is 1700, I'd stick a bit closer to it than the 1450 you set out to.
You could check both calorie limits, both for active, and light activity - pick the middle as your limit and let it even out over the week (stay a bit under on days off, go a bit over on working days - just work towards your weekly calorie goal.0 -
