I once tried this diet that made you take a tablespoon of extra virgin coconut oil before each meal. The oil worked as a sort of appetite suppressant. It definitely killed cravings because of the oily sickeningly intense coco flavor that would sit in your mouth all the time. After a while I gave it up because I was nauseous just smelling the stuff.0

You know, I've heard about all sorts of miracle "cures". Probably stuff that my parents (HIPPIES) do.
These are the things that I've heard similar "miraculous" things about:
1. Wheat Germ Oil-? Whatever....
2. Fish oils-this is actually horrible because it can create more sensitivity to the sun...ie. burning-TRUE FOR ME, stinks!
3. Flax Seed Oils-Regularity, wrinkle remover. Does make you regular..stinks to put it on your face.
4. Organic Apple Cider Vinegars (which I have put in warm water with 1 T of fresh lemon juice for water weight, morning and night) It's hideous, but it does get rid of water weight more effectively than water pills or tablets. It is an appetite suppressant, but it has to be organic stuff and NOT tablets. :noway:
5. Recently I've heard about this coconut oil in which you speak. I've heard that it you change your cooking oils to coconut oil that it aides as a metabolism booster. I've heard that it burns fat. I have yet to try it and I am the first to jump on the band-wagon for this sort of stuff. Thanks for sharing what you have so far. It's greatly appreciated. :flowerforyou:0 -
After reading this thread, I went out and bought some of this stuff for cooking. Let's see if it works. I'll give it a month.0

I actually bought this because I had read an article, I believe in woman's world. It had a recipe for muffins that you eat twice a day and they were great. I will try and find it and post it Or you can use non fat boxed muffin mix and you add the coconut oil in. I didn't use it long enough to see the benefits though0

Hey, thanks! That's a great idea. I have a gluten free, sugar free muffin recipe that I could use this stuff in. I was thinking about using it in Indian and Thai food...yah know, to cook chicken breasts in. How long ago did you buy it and how long have you been using it? Have you noticed any difference?0
