I am unable to exercise due to a compound fracture. I broke my tibia and fibula. Recovery time is going to be loooong. Has anyone lost all or most of their weight with just the calorie counting?

My mom did recently. She was at 185 and just switched to all natural foods and counted her calories and she went down to 145. It took her a while, but she looks fantastic! Now she's started working out to build up muscle tone. She's 53 and it worked for her! So if you really dedicate to it, it is possible!0

owowOW!
So sorry to hear this! Can you do upper body strength?0 -
You CAN lose weight without exercise. It's better if you can exercise even a little, but it can be done. I personally can't, but that's because my metabolism is all screwed up (hypothyroid). Just be careful and track everything you eat and drink, and you can do it.
Speedy healing to you!0 -
I would advise you to keep up with some upper-body resistance exercises if at all possible.
I did a 2yr loss of about 40lbs twice, once through diet and exercise, and once through diet alone. When I simply ate less, I lost a considerable amount of strength and muscle.
Meaning I was weaker and frailer looking...though I weighed about 180lbs at the end of both sessions.0 -
Yup, I have lost almost 60 lbs in last 3 1/2 months with almost no exercise. I am slowing down so thinking of adding it but I am seriously a lazy person and putting it off as long as I can. Exercise is for health and toning. You don't lose a lot with it unless you go all crazy and exercise for hours. It takes 3500 calorie deficit to lose 1 lb so that is a whole bunch of exercise to do.0

Yes.......exercise is good for yor health and muscle tone and your mental well being in that you feel you are taking control and improving your life.....BUT you do not lose a lot of weight from exercise.......
Losing weight requires strick portion control and watching the amount of food you eat.0
